Hi all.. Year 2014 was a wonderful year for me as i got to visit places from my bucket-list. From them one awesome experience i would like to share with you all is Antelope Canyon, Page, Arizona.
The city of Page is located in northeastern Arizona. It was a bright and beautiful morning in the month of July. Me and my husband booked a guided Upper Antelope Tour for the time slot 11 am , only guided tours are allowed. The most popular time slot is 12:30 pm because of the sunlight beams plays magic on the walls of Canyons and gets booked very soon. We were not lucky enough to get the bookings of this time slot.
Me and my husband reached their office at 10:45 am in Page, it is a 1 hour sightseeing tour, the guide assigned, took us to the canyon in a small van in groups of 8. We reached the Upper Antelope Canyon at 11 am. As we walked through the canyon i was mesmerized by the most beautiful natural formations. These Canyons are formed over millions of years ago mainly by flash floods sculpting the soft sandstone. Our guide was very informative and helped us with camera settings , photo tips and explained about the history and formation of the canyons. I have posted few pics here of the canyon.
Our next stop in Page was Horseshoe bend.It is about 10 minute drive from Page. We parked our car and hiked for about a mile .It was a very very hot day, I was exhausted walking . Its a vast expanse of desert.Once we reached the edge point , it was a dramatic view, I forgot all the tiredness of walking for a mile.. Horseshoe bend is jaw-dropping beautiful. Hike of 1 mile was worth every second.
Sharing few pics below. The three motor boats that you can see in the Colorado river , looks so tiny from top. There are no guard rails or any other kind of safety rails, its a bit scary at the edge of the cliff. Watch your step. The river shines in different shades of green and blue. It was an amazing experience.
Glad you got to mark some items off your bucketlist in 2014
