NO HOLI, for me

Holi is a spring festival commemorating Lord Krishna's dalliance with the cowgirls, also known as festival of colors, and sometimes festival of love.

Every year I tell myself  'NO playing Holi this time'. Straight to the point, I have sensitive skin, and any change from regular routine is revolted very strongly by my skin be it harsh sunlight, oily face cream, change of water, weather, food etc...(let me not bore you with these details). So now you can only imagine what colors could do to me.

So I quit playing HOLI?

Yes, that is what I plan to do each year.

"NO HOLI, for me" I promise myself. But you know few promises are meant to be broken, and this is one of them. I just cannot resist the festival of colors, I love getting painted in different bright colors, running behind kids, attacking strangers who are looking all fresh waiting for that first person to color them. Well my friends make it even more exciting by breaking eggs, adding mud in color and  throwing water balloons.

After this one day of enjoyment, follow few days of suffering. I am NOT exaggerating, for girls even few pink marks, skin rashes can cause a lot of pain physically and emotionally.

But for me, for what its worth I  just cannot miss playing Holi.

So here I am..
Indian holi, girls skin problem after holi, ananya tales, holi festival of love and colors,

And I guess IT's Totally worth it !

  1. Lol, I can understand, this is a promise which will definitely be broken by others, but in my case I am not playing the same from around last 5-10 years, and no one even comes to break this unwanted promise, which I did not even made to myself. :)
